Materials: (figure A) 2 yds. fabric 2 yds. cord Sewing machine Thread Straight pins - Cut one piece of fabric 30" wide x 72" long.
- Make the casing for the cord: sew a narrow (1/4") hem at the top and bottom of the 2 sides at 4". Fold over (figure B) and sew a 1-1/2" hem at the top and bottom. (The narrow hems prevent raveling where the cords come through.)
- With right sides together, sew seams along the sides from just below the cording hem to the bottom of the bag. Turn right side out.
- Cut the cord in half. Insert one piece from one side all the way around through the slots and back to the start (figure C). Knot the ends together. Repeat with the second piece of cord from the other side, knotting the two ends together.
- Pull the knots from either side to close.
