    Figure B

    Materials:
2-5/8 yards corduroy or duck (for jacket)
1/4 yard faux suede (for collar)
    1/4 yard muslin
    McCall's pattern

    Sewing notions:
    Five 3/4" buttons
    Scissors
    Thread
    Pins

    Steps:

    1. Serge both pockets, press under 5/8" and miter corners (figure A).
    2. Edge-stitch side-opening hem between circles. Topstitch 1/4" from first stitching. Repeat for upper edge of pocket.
    3. With right sides up, pin pocket on left front at marks. Edge-stitch and topstitch side and lower edges, keeping upper edge and side edges open.
    4. To form upper pocket, stitch across pocket on dotted line between circle and square. Stitch a vertical line about 1" in for pen and cell-phone holders (figure B). Repeat on right side.
    5. To add flap to right pocket, first fuse interfacing to flap.
    6. Pin flap pieces right sides together. Stitch sides and lower edge, taking up a 3/8" seam allowance.
    7. Cut corners diagonally. Grade seam allowances by cutting to graduated widths and interfacing close to stitching.
    8. Clip curves and turn right side out.
    9. Press and baste raw edges together.
    10. Edge-stitch sides and lower edges of flap.
    11. Topstitch 1/4" away from first stitching.
    12. With right sides together, pin flap to front over pocket, leaving room for a cell phone to peek out .
    13. Trim seam allowances.
    14. Fold over, edge-stitch and topstitch along seam.
    15. Add hook-and-loop tape.
