This handmade thatched-roof cottage is reminiscent of the English countryside -- but it's part of Pat Curtis's garden-railroad landscape!

Pat Curtis brings her garden railroad landscape to life with miniatures that match the countryside of her homeland, Great Britain.

For a castle, Curtis uses a simple mixture of rapid-set and water:

    1. Combine 1 cup rapid-set and 1/4 cup water.

    2. Pour the mixture into a mold and allow to set for about 20 minutes.

    3. After the mixture has set, break the mold away and use waterproof glue to join the pieces.

    4. Finally, paint the piece.

For stained-glass windows, Curtis coats a thin sheet of transparency film or plastic with multiple colors of glass paint.
