Making the Lid and FeetGuest Anne Igou and host Jennifer Perkins finish up the Pop Art Vessel by adding clay to the top and bottom halves, making a groovy lid handle for the top and sturdy feet for the bottom. Anne adds some final finishing touches that involve mixing leftover clay remnants and adding them to the inside, then embellishing the outside of the container with crystals.

- To create the pull, apply the 1-1/2" brass frame to the "top" orb half. Use PolyBonder to secure.
- Roll a 1" ball of cognac clay in the palm of your hand. Add to the center of one of the orb halves. Gently smash down until the ball sides reach the inside of the frame.
- Add the 1" frame on top of the ball. Flatten slightly and secure with PolyBonder. Roll a 1" ball of green clay, add to the center of the frame and smash down slightly. Roll a 1/2" ball of raspberry clay and add it to the very top securing with PolyBonder. Apply a small circle of white clay.
- Trim brass wire to 2-1/2". Shape it into a semi-circle by bending it around an acrylic rod. Press it into the green ball (figure D). Set aside.
- To secure the dowel to the bottom of the figure, tape the top of the dowel underneath the dress to the extra cardstock at the bottom.
- Roll three equal size balls of cognac clay and add to the other half, which is to be used as feet for the "bottom" of the orb. Attach them using PolyBonder. Bake both halves, on top of aluminum covered glasses and according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Once the piece is cooled completely, mix remaining scrap pieces of clay together in your hand until a swirled pattern is achieved. Roll out on the third thickest setting on the pasta machine. Cover the inside of both halves with the sheet (figure E), using PolyBonder to secure.
- Create a textured surface in clay using the ball stylus. Press the stylus into the clay until the entire sheet is textured. Trim excess from the sides of both halves. Place back again onto the aluminum covered glasses and bake according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Once completely cool, sand the sides of both halves slightly with the dry wall sandpaper to insure an even seam.
- Using tweezers to grasp carefully adhere a flat back crystal to each of the small white circles using Polybonder on the top and bottom halves of the orb (figure F).
