The clear window on the front of this "shaker" card contains confetti, beads or sequins -- whatever gives the card a festive appearance (and sound)! Figure A Figure B Figure C

Shake-up invitations and cards with this festive project! Ted Cutts, of Art Gone Wild, demonstrates how beads, sequins or confetti can cleverly announce a celebration.

Materials:

Paper
Die-based pads
Rubber stamps
Colored markers
Double-sided tape or glue stick
Double-faced foam tape
Stylus
Acetate
Scissors
Shaker materials (confetti, sequins, beads, etc.)

1. Use stamp X3-1209 (available from Art Gone Wild) to stamp window template on any paper.

2. Use bone folder or stylus to score dotted lines and cut along heavy ones.

3. Attach a sheet of paper onto window flap with double-sided tape (figure A).

4. Fold paper so that center area appears through window. Stamp center area.

5. After stamping image onto the paper, unfold flap, leaving paper attached to tape. Place double-sided tape all around the frame.

6. Stick window plastic to double-sided tape.

7. Place double-sided foam tape (1/16"or 1/8") all around frame (figure B). Make sure that all four pieces fit tightly together at corners so shaker materials won't fall out of window when finished.

8. Put shaker materials (beads, confetti, etc.) inside window.

9. Take backing off foam tape and fold image flap in to secure to tape.

10. Put double-sided tape on remaining flaps and fold in. Put finished window on another card with double-sided tape, or use as a stand-alone card (figure C).
