Ribbons can add another dimension to your fiber projects and come in a large variety of colors, textures, widths, and patterns. Here, Emily Adams uses ribbon to create a tailored border to photos or journaling. Download the Ribbon Border pattern.
Materials: ribbon large needle threader scissors craft knife ruler ribbon border pattern (above) light box - Place pattern on light box to trace cuffing lines - make lines 1/4-inch longer than the width of the ribbon.
- To cut slits in cardstock, put mat on light box and flip paper over so that the penciled lines are on the hidden side and trace the lines using a craft knife and a ruler.
- Starting at the bottom, weave ribbon in and out around the square using needle threader (leaving plenty of slack to tie a bow). Tie to finish.
Ribbon Photo Corners: Make your own elegant ribbon photo corners. The trick is to attach the ribbon to the photo before you adhere it to the page. Materials: ribbon scissors scrapbooking tape
- Wrap ribbon around corners of photo and tack to back using scrapbooking tape.
- Attach photo to scrapbooking page using tape.
