Tools:green felt (cut 2' longer and 2' wider than the table) measuring tape iron freezer paper (not waxed paper) blue painter's tape pencil foam paintbrushes glitter fabric paints in casino colors craft knife
1. Lay the felt on a flat surface. Use the chalk and measuring tape to mark the dimensions of the table, centered on the felt (figure A). These marks will help position the painted poker-table emblems.2. Draw a heart, diamond, club, spade and a simple stencil logo for the casino on the paper side of the freezer paper (the waxy side will be the surface that adheres to the felt). For example, our logo will be a crown and the initials "CJ" (figure B). You can use fun fonts on the computer to help you design a logo.
3. Cut out the stencils with a craft knife (figure C). Be sure to save any "inside" pieces of the logo.4. Place the stencils in the desired location on the felt tablecloth (inside the chalked lines). If necessary, you can use blue painter's tape to secure the stencils to the felt (figure D). With the iron set to medium heat, iron the freezer paper stencils onto the felt, waxy side down (figure E).
5. Using the foam paintbrushes and glitter paints, paint the logo, heart, diamond, spade and club stencils (figure F). Allow the paint to dry. Peel the stencils off of the felt (figure G) and use a soft cloth to brush away the chalk lines.
