    Materials:

    Facial toner
    Airbrush
White, black and grey liquid makeup
    Extra long eyelashes
    Paintbrushes

    1. Clean the subject's face with toner and tie her hair away from her face.

    2. Use the Queen of Hearts from a deck of cards (figure A) for a design source.

    3. Slowly airbrush the face with white makeup (figure B). The makeup should have water added so that is it the consistency of milk. Take your time; it is better to use a very fine mist and go over the face several times for an even finish. Airbrushing makeup gives you a smooth and beautiful finish.

      Airbrush tips:

      • Less is more -- it is easier to put more on than to take it off.

      • When you airbrush around the nose, the person needs to breathe in and slowly breathe out. Makeup mist is not harmful, but you do not want to breathe it.

      • Try to keep a nice smooth pattern going.

      • Airbrushes with compressors start at around $250. You can buy an airbrush and canned air at a hobby shop for approximately $50.

    4. Use a fine brush to paint on the black design.

    5. Add grey to the eyelids and the mouth.

    6. Use white paint to fix any errors.

    7. Draw black lines on the forehead for hair (figure C).

    8. Carefully apply some really long eyelashes.

    9. Cover the model's hair with a wimple (figure D).
